Presentation Blog

This was a great learning experience and a good way to work as a group in order to create a presentation. At first, I was very nervous to work on a group project online because they are usually done face to face in a classroom. To my surprise this project has taught me different ways to communicate as a group and help each other when we get stuck on a topic. As a group member in group one I feel like we really brought our presentation together as a group. The appearance of our presentation definitely brought some excitement to our presentation which intern made the experience for the viewers more exiting and enjoyable. As the first group to present we did have less amount of time to complete this presentation than the other group which became a little overwhelming for some of us. However, we were able to work as a group and get our topics down on the deadline. Our group leader did an amazing job helping us with our slides and organizing our information to match our topics. Overall, I had a great experience working with this group and learned a lot from my group members. I was fascinated with the theme group 2 did for their presentation. It really matched their topics and evolved with the overall presentation. I was very amazed on how every presenter had a very clear explanation on their topic and I was able to understand the chapter they were reviewing. This presentation taught me about different topics such as heterogenous, homogeneous, and productive norms. The whole point of this project was to elaborate on the chapters and give the class good points on the different topics. I believe group 2 did an amazing job at elaborating and explaining the chapters. There were a few technical difficulties but they were able to overcome the problem by working together and helping each other out. Additionally, this presentation was lengthy and not too long or short and provided the other groups with a good amount of information. For the most part, they had a good use of text, description, pictures, and talking points. All in all, I believe this was a really good presentation and a great use of teamwork. Group 3 had a good presentation and had some great topics to talk about. They had great photo references and provided multiple examples for each of the topics. Personally, I was a big fan of the group leadership and problem-solving slide because it started off with a question and it really emphasized the main points in his topic. The beginning of the presentation started off strong and explained their talking points very well however, towards the middle of the presentation it began to get a little vague. Most of the topics lacked information and it was very difficult to comprehended what the speakers were saying. An additional thing that made it difficult to understand the presentation was the scattered background noises on some of the presenters' screens. There was a video throughout the presentation that just played for two minutes without audio. I was very confused after viewing the video because it did not have any audio and the presenter did not explain the video before or after viewing it. It was skipped because of technical difficulties but it could've been explained in their own words so the class could at least understand somewhat of the topic. Group 3 had the longest time to prepare for their presentation which gave them more time to get their presentation ready and examine the other two PowerPoint presentations. Overall, I did feel like group 2 needed to work more as a team to bring the presentation together; however, their points were very informative which helped support their topics. I also captured new knowledge from this chapter that I didn’t know before. Madison and Angelic's review on all three power Points were amazing and really emphasized each groups strong points. They gave bullet points to elaborate on the leadership and problem solving in group 3 and a concise examination of the pictures and theme of the presentation. They took really good notes on each of the groups and brought it all together to give an amazing review at the end of each group presentation. As they were reading the review I was very captivated by the use of words and the concise explanation they gave the class. Overall, Madison and Angelic’s review really brought out and emphasized the good points from all the presentations and brought it all together to create a strong statement. The final presentation was very difficult to understand because it was being shown from an email and most of the wording was difficult to read. I also had a very hard time understanding what the presenter was summarizing because his wording was all mixed up and the information did not make sense as he was presenting. The presenter was also not giving enough information about the topic and reading off the power point. In other words, you can tell there was little time given into the power point and all the information was rushed. I noticed there weren’t any pictures or videos either to further explain the topic. There were definitely some good points in the presentation I just wish it was explained and elaborated more with videos or different context. All in all, I think the final presentation needed more work and more information on the topic. Overall, all the presentations were amazing and every group worked as a team to create wonderful presentations for the class. This was a very different way of learning for me especially since I have never done a group project online but, it is definitely not a regrettable experience. I got to meet my group members individually while working with them and we also learned new and exciting things about the class and how to work together as a team.
