2nd Presentations

Image
In these presentations, the groups were assigned different topics. For example, the 1st group, my group, had Health care and education. The 2nd group had racial divide and economy, and the 3rd group had immigration, law and order. Each topic is relevant to us and events going on in the world, America, or our state. All the topics are very informative and I know that each presentation will have there own way of informing us.       First group who presented on Oct. the 25th was group 3. Their presentation was about "Why elections matter in democracy." Their topics were Immagration and law and order. There are ten people in the group that consist of Lizette Carbonell, Melany Garcia, Melody Garcia, Mya Torres, Nicole Nunez, Priscilla Velazquez, Tyler Downie, Yeni Brusto, Lila Morales, and Marcia Fernandez. The group started of with Lizette talking about the intro. The first slide was on the description of the topics. There is the indrocution that give...

Review Part 2: Gabriela Iglesias

In this new project that was assigned to us, all three groups had to do research on how voting affects us in all aspects. Some individuals don’t have enough knowledge on voting, for example in finding what party the individual relates to and has the same views as. When voting, it is very important to base your vote on unbiased and scholarly information. Nowadays everything is extremely political more than ever before, we must watch out for false propaganda. Everyone seems to have a different opinion, the media not making it any better. Nonetheless all three groups showed us how everyone can make a difference in the outcome of elections. In other words, your vote determines who will affect public policy in all three branches of the federal government: executive, legislative, and judicial. For state and local government, the process is the same. In fact, everything you do in society is determined by public policy being where you work, shop, live and go to school. Knowi...

Our Elections Matter

Fed Sendy Jn Baptiste Having heard the presentations from each of these groups, I am grateful to each of them. I would also like to thank the teacher who gave us subjects that we found very enjoyable. I really enjoyed the presentations. As I learned a lot about topics ranging from education to healthcare, immigration to law and order, racial divide, and economy. In each of these subjects, elections play a significant role. The most effective way to learn and discover different aspects of something is through the presentation. In their presentations, the students were clear and precise in their explanations. They demonstrated excellent communication skills when expressing thoughts and opinions and demonstrate a clear understanding of how images and videos are interpreted. During the presentations, the class was divided into three groups: group 3 presented immigration to law and order, group 2 presented the economy and racial divide, and group 1 presented education and healthca...

Why our elections matter: Overview - Denise Armas

Image
Why do our elections matter?      Why should we care about our elections? How do our elections impact us and our day-to-day lives?              Those are questions I learned the answers to during this project that was assigned to my classmates and I, the theme project. The theme of our project was elections and why they matter. We were given topics to choose from that fit with the project's overall theme. Our choices were: Healthcare, Education, Economy, Racial Divides, Immigration and Law-and-Order and each group had to choose two topics from the list. We were also in the same groups and the same members as our last presentation. My group, group one, agreed to do Healthcare and Education as those were the topics we were most interested and knowledgeable in. The good thing was that we were already familiar with each other so we were mostly comfortable working on our own. However, we did face a few challenges along the way. At...

The Review Part 2 by Daniela Benitez:

In our new presentations, all three groups have conducted extensive research on voting and how it affects us. Many people may not have enough knowledge when it comes to voting. It is very important when voting to be informed of our candidates' dreams and what they wish to accomplish along with realizing the truth behind their words. In this day and age of ads and commercials, propaganda is bigger now than ever. Not only are we being mailed and emailed things about our candidates but it eams we cannot go a day without a campaign or smear campaign against other politicians. With all these opinions being thrown at us, we. may be swayed by one video. But with these presentations, all three groups made it clear what can deter us from voting and why it is so important to vote and encourage your family to also vote. 1 person may not sway the vote, but 50 people can surely do that.   Group One This is the group that I am part of, we presented last. Which was discussed by my group or s...
