My personal thanks go out to all members of the groups for these presentations. The presentations were very enjoyable for me. In my opinion, presenting is one of the best ways to learn and discover, being able to discover from the speakers and other attendees is a rewarding experience for me as an attendee. The speakers presented their ideas in a logical order, showed a good command of the language, demonstrate excellent communication skills when expressing thoughts and opinions, and displayed a good understanding of how to interpret images and videos during presentations.

The class was divided into three groups and the topics are as the following, “Intercultural communication, Communication in groups, and Group leadership and problem-solving”. My group was the first to present Intercultural communication, an examination of the relationship between culture and communication. It was an appealing presentation; I learned a great deal concerning it. The purpose of this chapter is to define culture and the role of communication in it, as well as explain the relationship between dominant and co-cultures, practice methods to improve intercultural communication competence by defining the different dimensions in which cultures differ, as well as defining the dimensions of cultural diversity. Communication between two people from different cultures may seem impossible due to their cultural differences, but intercultural communication occurs when two people communicate with one another in spite of their difference in cultures. As well as looking at culture and communication from a cultural perspective, this chapter also explores the relationship between them. Cultural influences profoundly both the way we perceive the world and the way we communicate. It was an extraordinary presentation. Throughout this chapter, I obtained a lot of knowledge. one of the primary factors I discovered is the difference between culture and co-culture, the concept of a dominant culture, and the concept of age and generation between different cultures and co-cultures. The culture of a population refers to all traditions, arts, and beliefs that are passed from generation to generation, and Co-cultures refer to groups of people within a larger culture who hold common values, beliefs, attitudes, and customs that differ from their larger culture. In a society, the dominant culture is the learned system of norms that are held by the majority of empowered individuals. The co-culture of people from the same generation may be distinct from the co-culture of people from other generations. People from different generations may have trouble communicating when they come into contact because of their co-cultural orientations. For example, different expectations about how to show respect can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts when people from earlier generations interact with people who came of age.

Communicating in groups was the subject of the second presentation. There was a lot of information presented in this presentation, and it was very excellent. This presentation shows how to communicate effectively within a group as well as how to be a successful member of a group. Communicating in groups helps to explain the characteristics of healthy groups, differentiate between different types of groups, develop strategies for managing group conflict, as well as explain the stages through which groups develop. There are many different structures in groups, but communication remains the key to success. By reviewing that presentation, I am able to gain a better understanding of the benefits of communicating within a group, such as encouraging members to make good decisions, assuring clarity and transparency about common goals and expectations, as well as generating ideas and solutions. In order to achieve consensus and understanding, communication in groups is crucial, it is necessary for everyone to communicate in groups in order to understand what is being done and be in the same direction. Whenever a group comes together, everyone deserves to speak and hear what they have to say. A variety of group types are also shown in this presentation. such as social groups, service groups, family groups, work groups and teams, support groups, interest groups, and virtual groups. I have seen how beneficial it can be to communicate in a group. As a result of this presentation, I also learned how important it is to understand the different group conflicts such as pseudo conflict, issues related to group conflict, personality related to group conflict, culture and conflict, and virtual group conflict.  Conflicts are inevitable in interpersonal relationships, so they should also be expected in group dynamics. In groups in which there is no conflict, groupthink may develop, while in groups where conflict occurs but is not managed effectively, the process may stall out and the goal may never be achieved. I learned that a pseudo-conflict occurs when members of a group who are actually in agreement disagree because of inadequate communication. When two or more members of a group have different ideas, goals, or opinions about a topic, there is an issue-related conflict. The level of personality-related conflict in a group can be described as when two or more members feel attacked because they feel they are being judged by the other members. Communication norms are unique for people belonging to different cultural and co-cultural groups. It can be more challenging to catch the subtle meanings of messages sent between virtual group members when attempting to manage conflict in virtual groups. It was a good presentation. In the end, group communication's purpose is to maintain consensus.

Finally, Group Leadership and Problem Solving were the third presentations discussed. It was a really good presentation. My understanding of what a leader is grown throughout this chapter. In a team, a leader's role is to provide direction, and steps to solving problems are explained. This presentation also explains how leadership functions in teams, engage in systematic problem solving through the six steps of effective meetings and utilizes key criteria to evaluate group effectiveness and communicate group solutions. According to their opinions and information, a leader ensures that members of a group perform tasks effectively and maintain mutual harmony. Identifying the problem is the first step in solving it. In order to resolve the problem, the group needs to understand exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done. Analyzing the problem is the second step, and it is important to collect as much information as possible. Before considering a specific solution, the third step involves deciding which criteria will be used for the evaluation. As a fourth step, we must generate a variety of different solutions. In the fifth step, each solution will be evaluated for both pros and cons, and a decision will be made. Finally, the sixth step includes implementing the solution previously agreed upon and assessing its effectiveness.

These presentations are great, and I really enjoy “Intercultural communication, Communication in groups, and Group leadership and problem-solving”. The information they provided was invaluable. As each group expresses their thoughts and opinions, they demonstrate excellent communication skills. There is no doubt that presenting is an excellent way to learn.
