Review Part 2: Gabriela Iglesias
The first group I’ll be writing about is group one. I’m a part of group one. In our group we discussed Healthcare and Education. We implemented the following: Introduction to health care and education: What is healthcare and education, types of healthcare and education. Division between low- and high-income areas: How these different incomes impact the future of the people who live in the areas? How voting affects our day-to-day life? Why every vote counts. How voting affects healthcare and education? What can be done to ensure better education and healthcare? How do we make sure these actions cause a permanent change? Lastly, what can those who may not be able to vote do to make an impact? Additionally, the government has the entirety to with our education. Miami-Dade is mostly funded by the state. Healthcare is an enormous subject when voting for a candidate. Both of the topics affect us as college students. Moreover, we mentioned how schools that are publicly funded at times lack materials for students. The lack of materials can greatly affect the learning ability of students as well as, lower income family students may not have the advantage of having their families as involved in the schoolwork as higher income families. On the other hand, higher income areas-parents are able to provide their children with the tools they need in order to prepare for college. Such tools include paying for the college applications, materials needed and providing him or her with additional assistance such as tutors to help them with their classes and SAT prep. This is an important topic because if candidates don’t properly fund these schools’ children may stray away from pursuing a higher education. In our group, group one also included several videos, charts, graphs, and images that could highlight the theme of how important health and education are, especially in public health and education, when it comes to voting for the right candidate. This is why, it’s important to make a difference with your vote.
Group 2
The topic group 2 had was on economy and racial division. Group 2 provided sufficient graphs and images that really engaged the class into the topic. I really enjoyed all the graphics within each slide it was simple to understand and draw conclusions. Even though, racial divide is a difficult topic they had great information and were informed on racial divide when it came to voting. Group 2 also provided information on how places with higher income are associated with lower turnout in each type of election. This means people with a higher wage choose to not vote and people who are unemployed or of lower income meet a higher voter congregation because of the changes that could substantially affect them. I liked how Group 2 provided us with political cartoons as a visual, it helped understand the topic even more. The stats as well were extremely helpful in understanding the impact and severity of all these topics. The history was done great and provided very important information that contributes to the laws, and the ways our economy works now. All the slides on racial divide were amazing. Altogether, there was so much good, valuable, and informative information.
Group 3
The topic group three provided was immigration and law order. I really appreciated the data shown in this presentation. The photos used in the PowerPoint pointed to the information as well. These were very helpful, especially for visual learners. Immigration laws in the past and immigration laws both did a really great job with all the acts and explaining them briefly but thoroughly. They explained the anti-immigration laws and their history of them. I believe this information is very important because most of us come from immigrant families it is important to know the history with immigration laws. The comparison of immigration was presented very well. The way the information was organized was helpful to understanding. In America, it is important to become a citizen, this way you can practice your lawful right to vote. They also included immigration laws and policies of other countries as an example on how other countries also have immigrants and how those countries approach towards immigrants. I liked how the slides, views of government were using examples like using DeSantis and Crist, again with the senators with Rubio and Scott. Lastly, they included many laws and acts that the United States has stood on in reference to immigration and how these laws and acts have progressed over the course of time. This really motivated myself and probably other students to make a difference with your vote.

Amazing to read. Thank you so much for being such a great student.
